Joliet Generals Announce 2022 Pitching Staff

Joliet, Ill – May 23, 2022 — The Joliet Generals have announced their final 2022 roster for pitching staff on Monday.


Cooper Avery (Valparaiso / Naperville, Ill.), Nick Vollmert (St. Ambrose / Lake in the Hills, Ill.), Kai Formella (College of DuPage / Elmhurst, Ill.), Jacob Ferguson (Trinity International / Oswego, Ill.), Logan Schwarting (Lewis / Joliet, Ill.), Jack Bell (Western Illinois / Minooka, Ill.), Max Peters (Lewis / Plainfield, Ill.), Will Frisch (McHenry CC / Crystal Lake, Ill.), Joey Turek (St. Ambrose / Woodridge, Ill.), Sava Dupor (Wisconsin-Whitewater / Glenview, Ill.), Matt Dinkel (Benedictine Mesa / Bolingbrook, Ill.), Ashton Schwab (UNC Greensboro / Glenview, Ill.), Will Jaynes (Western Illinois / Aurora, Ill.).


Avery appeared in 16 games his junior year in high school at Neuqua Valley and recorded a 1.00 ERA. He still holds his school record for fewest walks in a season.


Vollmert transferred from McHenry County College. He now plays for the Fighting Bees.


Formella was in the Midwest Collegiate League last year. In fact, he was named an all-star last year in the league.


Ferguson graduated from Oswego High School and started at College of DuPage. Now he plays at Trinity International.


Schwarting played for Joliet West in high school. He now plays for the Flyers in college.


Bell set a new program record for the Leathernecks with his 31st appearance of the season. He also went to Minooka for his high school ball.


Peters went to high school at Plainfield South. He now plays for the Flyers.


Frisch was ranked the 77th RHP in Illinois. He has appeared in five games so far for McHenry.


Turek went to Downers Grove South High School. He now plays for the Fighting Bees.


Dupor was ranked the 54th RHP in Illinois. He now plays for the Warhawks.


Dinkel started six games for the Redhawks in the 2022 season. He has pitched 34 total innings on the year.


Schwab was ranked the 10th LHP in Illinois coming out of high school. He now plays at UNC Greensboro after transferring from Oakton.


Jaynes appeared in seven contests as a relief pitcher and pitched seven innings total. He has pitched six times for the Leathernecks this year.
