Generals Roster Release: OF/IF (continued)

Joliet, Ill – May 26, 2021 – The Joliet Generals have announced the rest of their infield roster as well as their outfielders for the 2021 season.

Brandon Matias (Oakton / Glenview, Ill.), Jack Enright (Loras / Chicago, Ill.), Daniel Fierro (Oakton / Braidwood, Ill.), Michael Gould (Maryville / Naperville, Ill.), Jacob Small (Carleton / Chappaqua, NY.), Ryan Kiolbassa (Lake Land / Hoffman Estates, Ill.), Tom Stoodt (Occidental / Chicago, Ill.), Joseph Virruso (South Suburban / Oak Lawn, Ill.) and Cole Luedeking (Eastern New Mexico / Freeport, Ill.) were announced as Generals recently.

Matias won an NJCAA DIII Region IV First Team All-Region award as a freshman outfielder for Oakton this spring. He won All-Conference and CSL Player of the Year awards at Glenbrook South his senior high school season, hitting six home runs and leading the Titans to a sectional-final game.

Enright is one of three previous Generals returning from years before. He plays outfield for the Loras College Duhawks currently, and drove in 11 runs as a varsity player at IC Catholic Prep.

Fierro will also play both infield and outfield for the Generals. He was a General during their 2019 campaign, and hit one home run. Fierro played his 2021 spring season for Oakton after playing for Joliet JC his freshman year in 2019. He drove in eight runs with 15 hits in 61 at-bats during his freshman season.

Gould finished his freshman season at Maryville University batting .285 with two home runs, eight doubles and 29 RBI. He was Academic All-Conference while playing for Neuqua Valley in high school, where he helped lead the team to a sectional appearance.

Small hit an impressive .382 in his junior season at Carleton. He will serve as a utility player for the Generals, and hails from Horace Greeley HS in New York.

Kiolbassa hit .268 this spring at Lake Land with six doubles and three home runs. He was also third on the team with four stolen bases. Kiolbassa helped lead Fremd to their first sectional title in 19 years in 2019.

Stoodt was a captain on St. Ignatius’s 2018 Illinois Class 3a State Runner-Up team as a senior. He played for the Crestwood Panthers of the MCL in 2019 (17-13) as a middle infielder, where he led the team in games-played and was third in at-bats.

Virruso was a four-year starter at Oak Lawn Community HS where he won All-Conference awards twice and won the school’s Sportsmanship Award in 2019. He hit .261 in his freshman season at South Suburban this spring.

Luedeking hit .288 at Eastern New Mexico, recording six doubles and driving in 18 runs this season. He spent his first two collegiate seasons at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Ill., and previously played summer ball with the Ft. Lauderdale Knights of the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League.
